Dear Blaze, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your kindness. Hillcrest’s open house on Memorial Day is such a wonderful idea. It gave me something to do to honor my loved one at a very difficult time. His friends and some of his family were at the Tucannan area to spread his ashes in his memory. As much as part of me wanted to be withal the many people who loved him so much another part of me knew it wasn’t my way of celebrating his life. The open house gave me an avenue to do that in a way that was more agreeable to me. I was going to write you a note after the funeral and it just never happened. So now I can take this opportunity to also thank you for your compassionate service to me and my family during the immediate days after my husband’s passing. I’m sure there are many difficult situations that arise at times like these but ours did seem to be quite sensitive. You worked with all involved with such patience and care. I know how much I love my job working on the Special Service department at Kennewick High because I feel that I am doing something that makes a difference every day. I can only imagine you feel the same way even more so. I believe it takes a special person to perform your duties. Years ago while serving in the Relief Society Presidency I was honored to be given the opportunity to dress two sisters for burial. I feel that those responsibilities were two of my most spiritual experiences. These last eight months have been difficult ones for me but I have learned a lot and have felt so much gratitude and appreciation for so many people. Blaze, I wanted to drop you a line regarding Mrs. D. While you were on vacation we had a first call and embalm. I know your work and have always been happy with it. However, I was a little unsure of the quality while you were gone not knowing any of these people assisting you. I figured if you left your business to them I would have to take a breath and trust. my concerns were for not. The family was very pleased with the first call staff. They told me your staff was very respectful and professional. The embalmer did an excellent job. Very little cosmetic work was required and the family moved from family only viewing to an open casket. Thank you and your staff for the caring and quality service you provide, not only for Hillcrest, but also for anyone needing trade work. I look forward to our continued relationship in the future.

Washington State Patrol troopers have honored a Tri-Cities funeral homeowner for remembering a trooper who was killed in the line of duty nine years ago. Troopers gave Blaze Titus a plaque and certificate of appreciation Friday to formally thank him, said Lt. Jay Cabezuela. Titus owns Hillcrest Memorial Center in Kennewick and Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center in Pasco. Trooper James Saunders was shot and killed Oct. 7, 1999, during a traffic stop near 28th Avenue and Lewis Street in Pasco. Titus maintains a memorial to Saunders at the intersection, Cabezuela said. Last year, Titus had a reception for troopers, officers and Saunders family after the memorial service. “He did all of that on his own, just to help out,” Cabezuela said. “He’s a really neat guy who does a lot for the community.”

To all, I would like to thank ALL for your genuine and heartfelt caring of my father when we as a family needed the comfort and trusting help shown and given to us from Blaze and your Home. When I began searching for a home when my father was in his last moments of a long life, we were limited as we had dealt with another home a few years prior with our mother. It left few to choose from. I, not living there didn't know of many, so began looking thru the yellow pages of all places. I found 3 of which I put before my brothers to see what their opinions were. As I expected with one Home, it was out due to being the home that we had previously dealt with. Upon request from one brother I did call the other. I was very glad to know it had been taken over by the previous home. I had originally wanted to call yours; I liked how it was worded in the directory. Honestly, I had a very good feeling about it when I first read your name. Then add to that, how your heading read and at this moment I cannot remember the words. After having the phone conversation with Blaze about our first meeting, I was glad I called. To be honest, I was highly impressed with his compassion, his honesty and lack of what we had experienced before, which to me felt like "greed". Blaze was extremely personable and very helpful when knowing the situation at the time we first met. He was bombarded with roomful of very stressed and somewhat confused people, who were dealing with a dying father. Blaze was compassionate, yet very straight forward and willing to help in anyway. I truly believe after our dealings with Blaze, your Home and your Business, that I did find the best place to care for our father in a respectful and loving way. A Letter to the Editor; My niece and her husband found out on Monday August 22, 2005 that their son would be stillborn. They called a local well known Funeral Home an Tuesday to make arrangements for cremation after their son's delivery on Wednesday August 24, 2005. The mortuary put her off and she was basically told that her husband needed to make the arrangements and that they would call her back to see if someone could come in to fill out the proper papers. Later that afternoon, and even now, she has not received a return phone call and decided to call another funeral home. She called Hillcrest Memorial Center that afternoon and Blaze, the owner, was told the situation. He set up an appointment that very evening with my niece and her husband. He made them feel comfortable about what was going to happened to their baby. He showed them around the new facility and was very professional and compassionate. Even months after everything, he is still providing them with great service and support. My niece and her husband spoke with me many times about the wonderful care and attention given to them at this time f sorrow. Thank you Hillcrest Memorial Center, owner Blaze, and staff, for taking such good care of my loved one and her family.
